We measure our success based on the success of our students and hold ourselves accountable to the goal of 100% of Envision Schools graduates going to and graduating from college. It’s a lofty goal, but our students are succeeding beyond all expectations:

98% of Envision Schools graduates go to college. 91% have remained enrolled in college.

100% of Envision’s Class of 2010 has been accepted to college.

100% of our graduates met the course requirements for entrance to the University of California. Statewide, 35% meet these requirements.

Our graduates have been accepted to Stanford, UCLA, Wesleyan, Mills College, UC Davis, UC Berkeley among many, many others.

City Arts & Technology has been honored by the U.S. Department of Education as one of 12 exemplary charter schools in California.

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) conferred six-year accreditation, the best possible result and a rarity among first-time charter applicants, to all four of Envision’s high schools.

Read the letter below from a recent graduate of Envision’s City Arts & Technology High School, and see how these results translate into the real-world empowerment of a young woman who is the first member of her family to attend college:

Hi Ms. Johnson!!

So just a week ago I completed summer classes and workshops at UC Berkeley; I really want to thank you for preparing me SO MUCH (I wish I could emphasize that more) for history. It’s crazy how we did things so similar to what we did in your class! We had a big, annotated bibliography paper due. Many of the students didn’t know what the annotated bibliography required and were pretty lost. I felt lucky coming from City Arts & Tech. And even in the discussions, it seemed as though other students didn’t know how exactly to participate . . . I remember pulling out quotes from the books and sharing my thoughts on them, bringing in new questions into the group, etc., and then thinking “wow . . . thank you, Ms. Johnson and CAT!” We did have a lot of reading to do . . . but it really wasn’t all that bad . . . It was surprising to me how the things we did in your class were all included in the UC Berkeley curriculum . . . I think that alone already proves CAT’s level of great college prep!

Again, thank you, thank you!!!
