At Envision Schools we believe that students learn most effectively when the coursework is engaging and relevant to their lives. Through Project-Based Learning (PBL), students are able to explore core academic content within a system that requires significant student input and design. Our students put their academic knowledge to work and create in-depth projects that demonstrate their mastery of complex questions and problems in many disciplines including: art, math, literature, science and more. PBL also gives students a real platform in which to practice 21st century skills like critical thinking, leadership and communication through collaborative group projects, research, and project management. Throughout their time at Envision, students “show what they know” through exhibitions of major projects, assembling a portfolio of their best work, and defending that portfolio at the end of 10th and 12th grades to demonstrate mastery of skills and content.

I have always been interested in the arts, as it has been something very liberating and consoling, but I actually came to this realization whilst interning as a Young Artist at Work at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco. This gave me experience in filming/editing, photography, performing, writing, and expanded my perspective in the arts.
